See attached file for notes from Wednesday’s practice. AB may have said there was no clear winner, but because the opposition spoke more directly about the rights of a nation having nuclear energy rather than just the possibilities of using it, then they have to be judged the winners.
For next week, focus on the philosophical aspect behind the practicalities. For example, in the nuclear energy debate, it’s not about alternatives or weapons, it’s about whether a nation has sovereignty over its own people and actions, whether it has the right to do what it thinks best for its own people – the rights of nations, and the responsibility of nations.
