Don’t drink alcohol. Don’t smoke cigarettes. Not very convincing, is it? If you want someone to do anything you need to persuade them. There are many, many techniques to persuade someone and advertising uses just about all of them.
The Public Service Announcements (PSA) unit is designed to make you think about how to persuade someone using film. It also requires you to think about how to target a specific audience and exactly what is the purpose of every text.
